The 141,000-square foot Fred Hernandez Sport Fish Hatchery facility is the largest indoor sport fish hatchery in North America, and contains many sustainable features, including sophisticated recirculation technology that reduces by 95 percent the water and energy normally used by conventional hatcheries. Paul & Dan were Project Manager for different project phases and will give a presentation about the project. The Institute of Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI) recently announced that the William Jack Hernandez Sport Fish Hatchery is the first completed project assessed using ISI’s new Envision™ sustainable infrastructure rating system. The HDR-designed project received an EnvisionTM “Gold” award, which was announced at a recent reception event in Washington, D.C.

A Senior Project Mgr. with HDR in Seattle, Jill is currently serving on the APWA National Board of Directors and is the Director for Region 9. She will be providing a short presentation with updates from APWA National and a second presentation on “Public Works as Leaders in the Community”.
